RLE to Shustoke, 23 September 2020

I planned this route with the thought that we might cycle round Shustoke Reservoir, which I did with a couple of friends a few days before the ride itself. One of them was recovering from a broken wrist and didn’t appreciate the grass track round the reservoir edge. We checked out The Plough, which was just setting itself up after Covid restrictions had been lifted and found it satisfactory. The other pub we often go to is The Griffin at Church End but they had put up a large marquee which proved a bit on the draughty side.

On our test ride we came across another cyclist who had a puncture and although he had replaced his inner tube he was having difficulty getting his tyre back on, so we did that and pumped it up for him as well.

In the event I thought it wise not to take the club run round the reservoir.
