Flapjacks
INGREDIENTS
- 4 oz. / 113 g. margarine
- ½ tbsp. liquid honey
- ½ tbsp. maple syrup
- 2 tbsp. castor sugar
- 2 or 3 drops (max)
- almond essence
- 8 oz. / 225 g. oats
MAKES: 12 squares | PREP: 10 mins | COOK: 8/10 mins
- Pre-heat an oven to 175°C / Gas Mark 4.
- Add all the ingredients (except the oats) to a saucepan and melt together over a low heat, stirring as required.
- Add to oats and mix thoroughly.
- Grease a shallow baking tray and add the mixture, spreading evenly.
- Place in the oven and cook for 8 minutes for a softer texture or 9 – 10 minutes for a crispier texture.
- Remove from the oven and cut into suitably sized squares while still hot.
- Leave to cool before transferring to a biscuit tin.
