Denver Chocolate Pudding
INGREDIENTS
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ⅛ tsp. salt (small pinch)
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate or 3 tbsp. cocoa
- ½ cup milk
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- 1½ cups brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 4 rounded tbsp. cocoa
- NOTE:
- A pudding which is surprisingly easily made, but not recommended for overweight or diabetic people.
SERVES: 6 | PREP: 15 mins | COOK: 40 minutes
- Sift together the sugar, flour,baking powder and salt.
- Melt over hot water the butterand chocolate or cocoa.
- Add the chocolate mixture to theflour mixture and stir in milk and vanilla.
- Pour into a buttered baking dishabout 9” square. Over the topscatter, without mixing, the lastthree ingredients.
- Pour over the top 1¼ cups of coldwater or coffee.
- Bake for 40 mins. at 180°C / GasMark 4. Let stand at roomtemperature and serve cool but notchilled, either by itself or withwhipped cream or icecream.
